Most of my childhood was spent with my nose stuck in a storybook, daydreaming, writing my own magical tales, climbing my favourite tree, playing with my childhood cat, braiding all my friends' hair, picking tiny wildflowers, hunting for magical rocks or four-leaf clovers, and creating colourful artworks to decorate the homes of my loved ones. My childhood portraiture is very much inspired by this romanticized and formative time in my life: rich colours as vibrant as a child's imagination, and a timeless wardrobe to quietly pay homage to the simpler childhoods of yesteryear.

Now an adult getting to live my ideal country life on the Canadian Prairies, I am thrilled and honoured to host my clients right on my own property, and see its magic through kids' eyes. We can play in the wildflowers, search for fairies in my tiny forest, waddle around with the ducklings, and cuddle with our farm kittens. This homestead was my lifelong dream, and I love sharing the joys of country life with you!

Your Session

I take on limited sessions each month and book well in advance, especially for my highest-demand seasons of spring and autumn. Please reach out at least one season in advance to reserve your spot on my calendar, when possible! Childhood sessions can take place in the studio and/or outdoors year-round; even winter has the potential to lend itself beautifully to a portrait session, as long proper attire is worn!

The use of a variety of timeless props and children's wardrobe pieces such as dresses, rompers, blouses, sweaters, trousers, bloomers, shoes, socks, hats and bonnets are all included with my Session Fee. Please advise your child's sizing at the time of booking, so I can begin planning and preparing for your session early on. I may even prepare fresh flowers or order custom props in preparation for your session!

My childhood sessions are child-led, which means I prioritize their comfort, go at their pace, encourage a playful atmosphere so their genuine personality can shine through, and break as needed for snacks, etc. I've even been known to plan sessions around toddlers' naptimes to capture some beautiful sleeping portraits! Patience truly is key when working with children, so I'll never cap our session at a specific time limit.

Approximately a week following your session, I will present your proofing gallery so you can select your favourite portraits and order luxury print products such as custom wall art, heirloom albums, fine art prints, and more. Every portrait purchased includes its corresponding 3600px JPEG digital file, printable up to 12".
