I love, love, LOVE babies! The sleepy newborn stage, the smiley sitter stage, the cuddly crawler stage - there's breathtaking beauty in all the fleeting stages of infancy, and I love to capture every bit of it. Infant portrait sessions can take place in the studio year-round, and/or outdoors May through October.

I've been called a "baby whisperer" since I was a young child; not only have I always adored babies, but they naturally felt safe around me, too. (I dreamed of becoming Anne Geddes one day - can you tell I was a 90's kid?) Now a mom myself, I understand that creating a comfortable environment for Baby starts with providing a relaxing experience for their parents! For this reason, expect to be pampered while in my studio for your infant's portrait session: I make sure to provide a spa-like atmosphere, snacks and beverages, and even the space to have a nap should you choose. (I've been there - I remember just how exhausting those first few months of parenthood can be!)

I always prioritize safety when working with infants: I’ve taken multiple special newborn safety education courses, possess my Standard First Aid and CPR certification, and ensure I’m up-to-date with my personal vaccines to help prevent unnecessary risk to my littlest clients.

Your Session

The best time to book a newborn session is while pregnant! I take limited sessions each month, and I book well in advance to allow time to thoroughly plan each session and get to know my clients. As the ideal window to capture newborn portraits is within their first 7-21 days of life, I recommend reaching out months before your due date when possible (especially if it falls during my busy spring and autumn months) to reserve your spot on my calendar. This also allows us the option of adding a maternity session, should you wish to capture the beginning of your motherhood journey, as well!

Older babies are perhaps my favourite; they are alert and engaged with sparkling eyes, chubby with adorable rolls, and so smiley and giggly: that true "Anne Geddes baby" through and through! I truly believe the 3-9 months age range is the most criminally under-documented stage of childhood, and I'm making it my mission to correct this failure in the photography industry! Luckily, we don't need to plan as far ahead for older baby portrait sessions as we do for newborn photos, as we aren't limited to a strict 2-3 week time frame.

All infant outfits and props are included with my Session Fee. Sessions are baby-led, which means they may take hours as we go at your baby's pace and prioritize their comfort, breaking to change nappies and to feed as needed. We can even plan naptime into the session, to capture some beautiful sleeping baby portraits. Patience is truly key, so you'll always have my full attention for the day!

Approximately a week following your session, I will present your proofing gallery so you can select your favourite portraits and order luxury print products such as custom wall art, heirloom albums, fine art prints, and more. Every portrait purchased includes its corresponding 3600px JPEG digital file, printable up to 12".
