Perhaps nothing has been more inspiring to me than motherhood; becoming a mom changed me, and is central to who I am as a person and as an artist. This is probably why I find inspiration in all things surrounding motherhood and parenthood: the fertility journeys many go through in the hope of becoming a parent, the miracle of pregnancy and the gift of surrogacy, the beauty of the postpartum body, breastfeeding and bottle nourishment, long and strong matriarchal lineages, the connection and bond between a parent and child, and even the devastation of pregnancy and child loss... I could go on and on! I strive to tell the stories of the souls in front of my lens, from a place of the utmost empathy.

Your Session

I take on limited sessions each month and book well in advance, especially for my highest-demand seasons of spring and autumn. Please reach out at least one season in advance to reserve your spot on my calendar, when possible! Partners and other family members are of course welcome to participate in motherhood portrait sessions, in addition to our moms and moms-to-be.

I know you want to look and feel your very best, so my motherhood and maternity sessions include complimentary professional makeup services in their Session Fee, in addition to the use of my extensive ladies and children's wardrobe. I may prepare fresh flowers or order other custom prop pieces in preparation for your session, too!

Maternity sessions can take place in the studio and/or outdoors year-round, and are typically booked to occur around the 28th-36th week of pregnancy. Your ideal time may vary based on a number of factors and preferences, such as if this is your first pregnancy, the time of year, etc. (This is something we will discuss during your consultation, so don't worry if you're uncertain prior to booking!)

Other popular motherhood-themed sessions include Mother & Child and Breastfeeding portrait sessions. Wherever you are currently along in your motherhood journey, it deserves to be beautifully celebrated and honoured. Rest assured the artwork we create together will be cherished by you and your children for generations to come!

Approximately a week following your session, I will present your proofing gallery so you can select your favourite portraits and order luxury print products such as custom wall art, heirloom albums, fine art prints, and more. Every portrait purchased includes its corresponding 3600px JPEG digital file, printable up to 12".
